Wood Artist/Sculptor
This piece was exhibited in the juried show, "Out of the Woods- Traditional Form Revisited", held at the AAW national symposium in Portland, OR 2018. It is a traditional amphora form, used by the Greeks and Romans for storage and transportation of various goods. I imagined it as a woodland vessel that might have been used to collect and store medicinal or magical herbs. It is made of Pacific madrone and measures 6" tall and about 4" wide.
